Mirror People – Kaleidoscope

„Kaleidoscope“ is the second single of Mirror People on Discotexas, after last years “Feel The Need” (with Rowetta of Happy Mondays fame on vocals).

„Kaleidoscope“ explores a different direction from the previous „Feel The Need“. It’s an instrumental dance floor jam, with a solid beat, some looping and some psychedelic elements. As the B side there’s a remix by Xinobi, adding to „Kaleidoscope“ a hint of house and a slice of italo disco.

Mirror People has releases 12” on Permant Vacation, Hands of Time, Bear Funk and Discotexas. He also had his tracks remixed by Jacques Renault, Greg Wilson, Munk, Social Disco Club, Moullinex, Severino Horse Meat Disco among others. In addition he remixed Munk, Mario Basanov, Appaloosa, Adamski, Lazydisco, The KDMS and others…

Xinobi: „Pirates EP“

“Pirates”, the title track of Xinobi’s brand new Ep defines the Disco Music that didn’t fit at all on The Love Boat. It’s a tropicalish and groovy song, fueled with lyrics sang by Princess Superstar, Janel & Israyl about nasty pirates on the quest for gold and pleasure. Full of small details, it reaches both Pop and Experimental edges with an unique way of layering Disco, House and Rap.

„Bronze“, the “b-side” is a darker synth-trip about losing in life. Melodies and lyrics dedicated to all the drifters and the rejected ones that failed in achieving both wealth and love.

Get it on Beatport, Juno or iTunes.

Rebeka: „Stars“

So in this week BELL BIV LAEVOE Blog had a a lot work to do and there wasn´t enough time to give you all the news we wanted to give you about great brand new releases. But now we are back and here is one release by our favourite DISCOTEXAS Label. It`s Rebeka and their E.P. „Stars“ and it`s out today.

Rebeka is an experimental pop phenomenon that the grapevine has been buzzing with even before their first official release.

And it all boils down to the explosive duet between a charismatic vocalist, Iwona Skwarek, and a compelling producer, Bartosz Szczesny. Homebrew disco, Chinese techno cooked up on a vintage keyboard bestowed eons of time ago at The First Communion.

This gifted twosome of an emerging generation is not to be limited to any musical boundaries. „The laser versus the axe,“ as they say of their music. „It won’t be disco, rather resounding brass and diamonds.“

„Stars“ was mixed by Mirror People, who also did a club mix. Punks Jump Up delivered two remixes and Discotexas made an accoustic version!

James Curd: „Guide Me E.P.“

Guiding us through the labyrinth of misguided musical arrangements and phased electronic dreams, Greenskeepers‘ front man James Curd has served up a divine offering of syncopated house music perfection for his first release on etcetc – ‚Guide Me‘. With loving re-workings from Gigamesh, Frames, and Al White, this just sounds lovely doesn’t it.
